July 5, 20232 yr Many MSFS graphics settings for the monitor are replicated for VR, and some are not (eg DX11/DX12). Do the graphics settings I have for my monitor impact PC resources when in VR mode? I'm curious if I'm impacting my VR performance with a high PC monitor setting. Firstly you can run VR in DX12 but the option is currently only n the PC section (for whatever reason) so it still works, unsure on other graphical options in PC and not VR as I've not messed with settings for ages. Secondly, generally speaking changing other settings in PC should not really have an adverse effect if you have the same settings in VR as that's where the sim will read it from. There was a time a while back where people were convinced changing the PC section to LOW for everything boosted performance whilst HIGH drained, but Asobo did fix that issue and/or it didn't affect everyone. Other than that the monitor "mirror" *should* not affect performance at all, I did tons of benchmarks long ago in this Sim and others with a VR "mirror" and there was no difference in FPS/performance. Pico is not a WMR headset, but what I meant was, in MSFS General Options, Graphics, do high PC Monitor settings (eg Anti-aliasing or TLOD) impact VR fps performance, or are they 'ignored' when in VR mode? MarcG told me what I wanted to hear! I wasn't sure if the VR mirror view appearing on my monitor was governed by the graphics PC settings or the VR settings. Apparently it's the VR settings, so I can set my PC monitor settings high without worrying it will impact my VR performance. August 5, 20232 yr I try to match my pc settings with vr settings, reason is when I switch between vr and 2d, i get poor performance for a few minutes before it settle if the settings dont match. Other than that I dont think it affects it in the long run…
