MSFS Aircraft selection page problem

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Been quite a while since I have been here looking for help but I do believe I now have a beauty.

A few days ago I downloaded and installed an update which worked just fine and I followed it up with a great flight.

Today, I started MSFS up and all proceeded normally. I then clicked on the world map to start a flight and instead of the normal aircraft selection, departure etc  page, I just got the globe with all my Australian airports listed. There is nothing else except a go back on the bottom and a home page icon up top.  As far as I can see there is no way to initiate an aircraft selection or anything else. I cannot imagine this is part of the new update mainly because there has been no recent confusion or comment on this forum.

I have just exited and restarted in safe mode but that does not fix the problem either.

Can anybody help with this other than doing a full reinstall again.

Regards

Tony Chilcott

A screenshot would help.

Mate,

As usual, I have no idea but it was only 18gb

I have made some progress though, as I renamed the community folder and reloaded MSFS. It is now back to normal so the problem is obviously in the community folder. I am going through it all as we speak (type LOL)

I will advise asap

Thanks for your response

I do not believe it would at this time.

However, normally, I would agree. (see my previous reply to Adam)

This may sound like a troll ... but it's often my stock reply to Community folder related problems. Do yourself a huge favour and use Addons Linker. It really helps to keep your Community addons in control - allowing you to easily enable/disable blocks of addons so narrowing down the culprit can be quite quick.

Sounds like one of your sceneries may be clashing with that latest update.

I'm a huge fan of the Linker - and wrote up a "procedures" guide, describing ways to set up all your addon files and locations etc. Like many computer tasks, if done sensibly right at the beginning they can save you lots of time in the future. The document has a section at the end to do with troubleshooting/debugging.

Hello all,

Great news. I found the problem and it was the unreal engine folder. I simply deleted it and reloaded it from a copy I had.

All is fine now although it took a bit of work to find it.

I would like to pass on a huge thank you to all respondents and I am now investigating "addon linker"

Cheers Guys

Unreal engine folder? What's that for in the sim, is it from a mod?

Sorry mate,

It is the UnrealWeatherLiveMetar 1.4  This is free and has been updated.

https://unrealweather.blogspot.com/

if you google the live metar above you will see some youtube videos which gives you all the info including installation instructions.

Hope that clears it all up.

Ok, I know what Unreal Weather is, I used it a couple years ago. But it hasn't been updated, the dev disappeared a long time ago. Dunno why you say it was updated, last update in the site is from 2021. I uninstalled it a long time ago.

I had the 1.4 version which has been updated to 1.6 and 1.7 according to the site.

During the problem discovery/solve process I deleted the original 1.4 and MSFS was restored.  I then updated it to the 1.6 version and installed it.  My problem came back so I deleted that too.

I hope that clears up any queries.  (I think you misunderstood what I meant to say LOL)
