FEX weather engine info

Featured Replies

I would be willing to check it out b(as it will be a free add-on), but I'm already doing the same thing, and more, with FEX in combination with ASX and XGraphics (using FEX clouds, as example). Right now, I'm pretty happy with these programs working together.

I also use FEX with ASX, but I still get ennoyed by 'visibilty lakes' when flying over mountainous terrain. It seems the FEX weather engine has an answer to that:>4. Haze and Visibility issue>The FEX weather component implements a technique which solves the problems users have experienced with other weather engines. Accurately depicting visibility with no harsh transitions between layers. If that's true, I'm afraid it's byebye ASX...Paul

What about this..."3. Weather influenced texturesFEX has a revolutionary approach to textures which gives the ability to create textures dynamically both manually (through the designers) and also automatically. The true power of this will become much more apparent when the weather component is implemented, as this is not just making texture selections as has been done in the past, but is actually altering the textures according to the real world conditions."Does this mean the cloud textures are changed dynamically in flight (without needing to save and restart the flight)?

If you mean changing texture sets, they only get loaded by FSX at startup - program start not flight start. They probably mean somethng else.VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.6Evga 680i A1 with P30 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx Kandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpgRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/
