"Immunoenhancing agents are injected locally into one site of tumor, thereby triggering a T cell immune response locally that then attacks cancer throughout the body."

"Remarkably, this combination of a TLR ligand and an anti-OX40 antibody can cure multiple types of cancer and prevent spontaneous genetically driven cancers."

This is one story that I truly find to be fascinating.  Even if this new drug only halts tumor growth, yet does not affect normal cells, think of the number of people with cancer who can live a longer and fuller life.  Current chemotherapeutic may stop growth, may even kill the cancer, but the patient often leads a debilitated life due to the effects of the chemotherapeutic on healthy tissue.

If testing trials prove this new drug is as effective as the preliminary results demonstrate, this will be the biggest news of the century!

Sounds promising.

I just hope that this experimental treatment doesn't get quashed before it has a chance to succeed  There are a lot of big money medical/pharmaceutical interests that stand to lose billions if a treatment like this actually works.  They don't like competition.

The study was actually dated January, 2018.

The follow up study on humans with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma was started in April, 2018, and is expected to be completed in October 2023.

TED Talk by Dr Idit Sagiv-Barfi, the lead researcher of the original study.:
