Garmin GTN 750 and changeable nav database

Featured Replies

Hi

Is there any GTN 750 in MSFS2020 that provides manual change of databases?
Reality XP has this option in FSX, but they did not come to an agreement with MSFS 2020 as far as I know. Maybe MSFS2024?

I am not looking for a database download option like Navigraph. I want to open a folder in my computer and change whatever database I want. Primary the NAV database.

Thanks for all answers

I believe these are the only two options for the GTN 750:

  • The TDS GTN 750XI uses the real world Garmin databases and that can only be updated if you have access to those. It only uses that database and can't be updated using any other provider.
  • The PMS TDS 750 can be updated to use Navigraph (I think it may also use the built-in MSFS navdata as well) - I don't believe there is any options for other database providers apart from those two.

Then I guess it will work with the TDS GTN 750 Xi. Does it use the Garmin GTN simulator Trainer for Windows? Like Reality XP does?
I can Google it now 🙂

Many thanks!!!!

Reality XP uses the Garmin GTN Trainer, and the TDS GTN uses the same..

So the navdata files are identical and located in the same place.

RXP does not support MSFS2020?

Now I have to decide if I shall wait for 2024 or buy MSFS 2020 🙂

Why wait?

I do not know if I want to set up the 2020 version and maybe have to do a clean install of 2024 allready next year.

With FSX it was much tweeking, adjustmens, settings and installation of third party applications. If it's the same her, I will only do it once.

I think it was the other way around- MSFS did not support RXP.

That is entirely your call... Either way, MSFS is a big change from FSX and arguably you may as well bite the bullet now..  Moving from FS2020 to FS2024 should be a minor event by comparison.

If you are planning to make the move, I would do it now rather than wait a year.. but as I said.. your call..

Cute... 😉

Either way.. RXP is not offering any gauges for MSFS.
