August 15, 20232 yr I just flew over the island of Terre-de-Haut in Guadeloupe expecting to see the POI of Fort Napoleon des Saintes and although the marker was there the model was not. I have World Update IV installed so am at a complete loss as to why this has not shown up. Anyone else having the same issue or have the answer to this puzzle? 5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2

That's what I was expecting to see but all that was there was a flat area on top of that hill where the fort should have been. Weird. Where on earth has it gone? Aliens? Longoliers? Gremlins? A rip in the space time continuum? A new one on me, I have to say. 5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2

Langoliers is my bet - Bangor airport has never been the same since those pests turned up. They would eat that Fort for Breakfast. Stephen King has a lot to answer for if you ask me! On a serious note, have you checked if you can see any other POI's in the pack? Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. I have been flying a lot in the region this covers and flying delibrately over POI's and have not seen any missing places. 5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2
August 16, 20232 yr Author I decided to have another flyover to see if it showed up before I started to try to reinstall WU IV and it wasn't there but this time I flew over it at about 50 feet and when I was near it it popped into place. It's the sort of thing I would expect to see from an LOD issue but it didn't disappear when I flew away from it. Not sure what is going on here. 5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2

If that is the case, that is the old Devil's Tower issue going on again. I thought they had solved this once. No amount of LOD tweaking in the sim will do it. I think it is a model issue. Basically the famous Devil's Tower landmark in Wyoming (as seen in the Close Encounters film), only used to pop up when you were nearly on top of it, but they found out what was causing it and attended to it in the USA update 2 I believe. May need an error post in the official forum. Like this POI, once the Devil's Tower had popped up, it stayed for the duration of the flight sim session. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
