August 30, 20232 yr If Austin Meyers wanted stuff to code into X in the future I have a good one but it would take some work for sure.. it would be great if you could place a runway or strip anywhere you want one...and let you pick its design...turf or paved, any length , flat or natural based on the known geo info ...and fine tuning in a variety of ways. Especially useful for people who are thinking of constructing their own strip on their property. It would be a fantastic feature. What do you say Austin??

August 31, 20232 yr I was breath taken for a second that someone may have actually thought of something XP doesn't do or hasn't tried yet. But all I found is one of the things it does best 🤣 Whats missing from @mjrhealth and @GoranM replies however is just how "WOW" WED is. There are a lot of people who "just" use WED and enjoy building things with it. The other one you can use for the things WED doesn't do is JOSM https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ You can import "patches" (including terrain alterations) from that via Ortho4XP, I use that for the small lakes in: AutoATC Developer
September 1, 20232 yr Author surprised to see...if you have used it ,can I place a turf runway on my property ,1300 ft, by flying over my house and identifying it ?? do I need Google maps? I want the slope to stay natural, about 2% slope...and make it 70 ft wide narrowing to 50 ft at the end.

Use it all the time to update airports for xplane. Plenty of youtube videos on how to use it.
September 1, 20232 yr Author one thing..it says at first what folder you want to use... what folder in X should I put it...?
September 2, 20232 yr The WED exe goes in the xplane folder, the airports you create go in the custom scenery folder. Now go watch some videos.
