September 11, 20232 yr Hello! Does anyone have experience with the 737 Classic by CaptainSim for P3Dv5. Would you recommend the aircraft? Why/Why not? Cheers!
September 11, 20232 yr I have flown the CaptainSim classic (-300) quite a bit. I would say it is not study level (PMDG, FSLabs) but not either a Lite aircraft (think CLS DC10 or similar) but rather something in-between. Unless you are truly looking for study level aircraft with failure simulation and can accept some minor quirks here and there, then I can definitely recommend the Classic 🙂 i9 14900K / Corsair Nautilus RS ARGB liquid CPU Cooler / MSI Z790 Tomahawk WiFi / 64GB Trident DDR5 RAM @ 7200 mhz / 24GB Gainward 3090 Geforce RTX / 2 TB SSD WD Black SN850X NVMe / 1 TB SSD Samsung 990 Pro series / 2 TB SSD Samsung 980 Pro Series / 500 gb and 250 gb SSD Samsung Evo 850 / RM1000W Corsair PSU - P3Dv5.4, X-Plane 12, X-Plane 11 and FSX
September 12, 20232 yr No, it's a 737-200 system with 757 FMS, while it's kinda true the real aircraft is kinda build that way, but you can tell the difference, for example, if you clean the FD and re-engage them, on 737 it should goes to empty mode, while on 757/767 it reactive with HDG HOLD and V/S mode as default, so you see the CS737 did what 757 would do... that's just one point, and it's like this all over the place. And some very annoying straight bug like the frequency will jump by itself for no reason. the performance with WXR on is almost unplayable... etc, etc... And the -400 even doesn't come with the long body style air condition system panel... in the initial release the VC is even placed wihere -300's cockpit was... And you won't expect any update in the pipeline.... I went IXEG 733 on X-Plane, enjoy it in XP11 and looking forward to their XP12 version. Edited September 12, 20232 yr by C2615

This Comm frequencies jump is always triggered by the autosave from FSUIPC. As C2615 said, it's a bug that will not be solved but switching off autosave is possible. The 737 classic has lot's of attractive repaints, it's easy to fly without long preparation. So for the more casual pilot a good choice. I recommend buying it on sale, cause then it's really deep price. Unfortunately they only have once a year sale and then it's mostly only 24 hours. You can just start with the 300 and get the others once on sale. Tried it a couple of times, but didn't keep on flying it (because there aren't almost any liveries for the parts of the world I usually fly). Nothing to write home about. 21 hours ago, mytree123 said: Would you recommend the aircraft? Only if you purchase it at one of their $10 sales (as I did). September 12, 20232 yr Author Thanks to everyone replying. I will not be buying the 737-300 then because I am well used to FsLabs, PMDG, etc. and I think I wouldn't be happy with the CS then.
