PMDGs NGXu is my suggestion for an all-round versatile jet. Short, medium as well as transcontinental real-world flights. IMHO the setup is simpler and more user friendly then Ifly and I like the handling better, especially since the engine spool up and down seems like it would be more realistic to me. Plus, there are many more third-party liveries available through the PMDG Ops center as well as other web sites. I also believe the wheel friction is more realistic. 

That's just my preference not being a long-haul fan. As a disclaimer I'm no fan of PMDG since they walked away from P3D leaving unfinished business but that's another topic.  IFly makes a nice NG and MAX and is a little more cost friendly.
