Installing P3Dv6 gets hot.

While updating P3D v6 to the latest version I noticed that my CPU (7800X3D) goes to 87°C. Why does it get so hot?

I have an EK Nucleus 360 AIO and don't think my cooling it's to blame.

That does seem quite hot, but modern cpus are designed to operate at higher temps than we have been used to in the past. A 360 AIO is usually quite effective for keeping temps reasonable.

Many things could affect the temps you have noted.  What was the ambient room temp?  It has a big effect on cpu cooling.

Have you made changes to the cpu?  Overclocking?  What temps do you see when playing games, or running a stress test?

If its a new setup, has the thermal paste been applied correctly. Newer Ryzens are slightly different to previous cpus. The hot spot is somewhat off centre.

I've found this to be high on the list, living in a two story house.

@Samaritano, what temperatures do you get in other sims?

Another thing: did you use to cap your FPS, and now that limit is removed?
