October 18, 20232 yr Just made it now and thought some of you might want to try this flight in an area we rarely visit or speak about. Download the following two sceneries on Flightsim.to: Tromso ENTC Honningsvag ENHV Then make a (daylight) flight from Tromso to Honningsvag with your favorite piston or turbine aircraft, and shoot a challenging visual approach on RWY 08 (very often you will be greeted with a generous crosswind), downwind leg will be over the sea after reporting abeam the airport at 2000 feet. Take a good look at the airport map and its environment first (SkyVector) as you might struggle to make it on your first attempt. The approach on RWY 26 is a bit easier and has PAPI lights and an NDB (308 HLN) if you prefer to exercise your skills. But the surroundings of the airport are indeed challenging. Not only will you enjoy a very scenic flight over a spectacular northern landscape (North Cape), but you will use two superb sceneries crafted by two talented and passionate designers.
