A2A Cockpit Sounds P3Dv5.4 Help

Featured Replies

I have searched the A2A forums and these forums, but have yet to find a definitive answer to the A2A problem of no sound in the virtual cockpit in P3Dv5.4.  Any solutions appreciated!

I have no cockpit sound problems with any of my A2A aircraft in P3DV5.4. Which aircraft? And have you tried to reload the aircraft? I have noticed that if the sounds are missing in VR mode, reloading the aircraft brings the sounds back.

Both the C172 and Bonanza.  Uninstalled and reinstalled both but still no sound in the virtual cockpit.  I'm stumped.

What's reloading the aircraft mean?

Is it just the virtual cockpit sounds (switches, dials, etc.) or all sounds in the VC view? Can you try opening the Windows sound mixer to see how sound devices are assigned? The thing with A2A planes is that AccuSim runs outside the sim, and this also applies to the sound. So, if you have multiple sound devices, it may be playing through a different one than P3D itself.

You can reload an aircraft with "shift+.", to have it restored in case it has broken systems, e.g. flaps not retracting, empty batteries etc. It also reloads textures.

OS=WIN11 Home, Sim=P3D5 5.3 (P3D4 and FSX for install reasons)
Addons=ORBX, ASCA, AS, TOGA and tons of sceneries, aircraft

MB=Gigabyte AORUS Z790 Elite AX, CPU=i13900K, Cooling=Be quiet! Pure Loop II FX
GPU=KFA2 RTX3090 24 GB, RAM=64 GB DDR5-5600, HOTAS=Logitech G Saitek X52 Pro

After loading a flight you just reload the aircraft with Ctrl+R and the cockpit sounds are back. If the outside sound is missing, pressing Q twice (Sound ON/OFF) might help.

This is the problem.  VC sounds are coming through my headset, while all outside sounds are playing on my amp and speakers.  In P3D that the Amp and speakers are the primary sound device

In the Windows sound settings you may have to activate the USB speakers (if your headset is connected through USB).

In this case, you have two options: either set the output device to which the amp is hooked as the default Windows sound device, or - if that is not desirable in your setup - go to the volume mixer while P3D is running, find the A2A module in the list and change the corresponding output device (Windows should remember the setting from now on).

ALL FIXED!! Was just a matter of altering file sharing and permissions for A2A and P3dv5.
