October 27, 20232 yr Hi all Just installed everything from scratch on a new PC. Everything seems settled in, but for some reason TIR freezes immediately when the app window opens. Also cannot close the app using End Process in task manager. Have tried a few re-installs of the software with no significant difference. Anyone else come across this? Someone had suggested deleting the settings.xml file in AppData/Natural Point - that hasn't helped. Also did a DDU uninstall of Nvidua drivers which someone else suggested (worked for him). Didn't work for me.
October 27, 20232 yr I have found that the trackIR software can sometimes be temperamental. I start it and it immediately closes then I start it again and it's fine. Originally, I had to start it before starting msfs for it to work, but lately it seems to work fine if I leave it until after. I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling in the first instance assuming you have tried running it a couple of times after it has shut down. I guess there is a support contact and a FAQ on their website you can refer to for help if reinstalling does not work. I also find if I start it once in the sim then the sim hangs few a little while

It could be FSLTL though but from memory, the errors I have been getting point more to Littlenavmap. October 27, 20232 yr Moderator when that happens, try running mouse emulation and see if that frees it up. It's in the start menu in the Trackir group or just type mouse emulation in the search bar RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
October 27, 20232 yr Author I solved the issue. Decided on a complete reinstall of Windows 11 (not using a backup). Clean install. First thing I did after all the windows updates was install TIR. It then opened without issue, no freeze. So sitting through my second night of MSFS installation 😀
October 27, 20232 yr Good to see you got it working. Sounds like it may have been an issue with the Windows USB ports or drivers, but no way to know for sure.
