November 1, 20232 yr After I downloaded P3D v6, C:\drive turned RED. Installation drive was F:\ drive and 114GB loaded. My question , why C;\ drive filled up? I have available free space 686GB in F:\ drive How can I transfer some file from C:\ to F:\ drive . Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"
November 1, 20232 yr P3D installs some stuff in your C drive, Im not at all sure how to fix that, other than just by a 4tb hard drive Peter Osborn
November 2, 20232 yr P3D leaves very large folders in C:\ProgramData\Package Cache. Once you have installed P3D and assuming that you kept your download, you can safely delete them.
November 2, 20232 yr Author Will I click and delete "Package Cache" file ? Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"
November 2, 20232 yr That might be unwise, perhaps it would be better to look inside the folders first and just delete the P3D ones.

To me, the whole purpose of asking for help is to gain "ideas" that you do not already have. Secondly, how you expect someone, whom you have rudely written off as having "no idea" how to find and delete a folder, to be able to fathom how to buy and install a new system disk and then transfer the previous system disk data onto it, is not immediately clear.

Watch some video's on how to clone your drive. Then remove for a spare or simply rename the old drive to a different drive letter. Problem solved. Come back and ask additional questions if you need to. Good luck. November 2, 20232 yr Go to your downloads folder and delete the P3D V6 file that you just downloaded. Its a huge file and once you have set the program up on your chosen drive then you no longer need it. If you do want to keep it then copy and paste onto another drive other than c: Edited November 2, 20232 yr by Garys

Its a huge file To answer the question: Quote How can I transfer some file from C:\ to F:\ drive . Here are some facts. 1 The downloaded P3D v6 .zip file is 35.3 GB 2 The P3D v6 installation process adds a folder to the C:\ProgramData\Package Cache folder that is also 35.3GB and contains exactly the same files. 3 There is nothing wrong with having a smaller C drive, for most flight simulator users, 250GB is more than enough, less than that is needed if there is little unrelated add-on software The P3D v6 backup folder in the C:\ProgramData\Package Cache folder can be deleted without consequence and the initial downloaded .zip file can simply be moved off the C drive to the F drive, again, without consequence. 7 hours ago, TurboKen said: Then purchase and install a second hard drive. November 3, 20232 yr Author Thanks all your suggestions. Reader, I deleted" Package Cache folder" and gain 70 GB of free space. THX Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"

I noticed my garmin trainer( TDi GPS) is in that folder.. If I delete it will the GPS still work? Peter Osborn
November 4, 20232 yr In this case, the only folder that I would recommend that it is entirely safe to delete, is the one that contains the P3D v6 backup. It appears to be given a very long containing folder name but it contains these files.
