December 15, 20232 yr I know most of you on here will know about this little tweak, and to be honest, I should also have known about it, but I didn't! OK, I used a similar tweak in P3D, but I was unaware of it in MSFS until the other day, that's when I thought that perhaps there are others who may also be unaware of it. Anyway, if you don't know what I'm talking about, then check out the video, otherwise, you may want to pass. Having said that, I'm unsure what the effects would be, if any, for someone with a low end GPU. The only way to find out is to try it Edited December 15, 20232 yr by Rockliffe HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776
December 15, 20232 yr I’ve had mine on 6144 for a long time, it helps my 4090 from sitting there twiddling its thumbs lol I also have my render scaling set to 105. This helps to keep me from being CPU limited. With the new sky colours in SU14 MSFS looks beautiful and with this tweak the shadows are really nice. December 16, 20232 yr I have used 6144 for a long time, and even with my old 1080Ti, it didn't affect frame rate. 8192 started to though, that's why I turned it down a touch. 6144 is adequate anyway, and I couldn't really see much difference between them. Just a note. This corrects about 90 percent of the shadows but occassionally I still get a few with a flickering feathered edge. Note sure why it doesn't cure all of them. It is well worth a tweak anyway! Costs you nothing as far as I can see and definitely improves things a lot. Steve's DX10 fixer did a similar thing for FSX, and I still reckon his cloud shadows were better than the current ones in MSFS as well!
