PLAY in Iceland.... (20 Pics) ...

Featured Replies

Today, among my new set of (Global) liveries for the (Stock) Airbus A320neo, this "Vibrant Red" paint (see below) of PLAY (airline) caught my attention. PLAY is an Icelandic LCC operator headquartered in the country's capital of Reykjavík. It operates a fleet of Airbus A320neos, with a hub at Keflavík International Airport (which is where my PLAY A320neo, in this post, is arriving).

"Pay Less, Play More" is the airline's slogan, "Just remember to play more at your destination because you're about to pay much less for your flight."

So, here is a short flight across Iceland from north to south, from Akureyri Airport (BIAR) to Keflavík International Airport (BIKF) which is near the Capital City of Reykjavík. Iceland is filled with volcanoes, mountains, and rock and lava formations, of all shapes and sizes, some of which I passed by on my route (see images below). We all will recall the famous mountain in Iceland that had volcanic eruptions in 2010. Over a period 3-4 months, a series of volcanic events at Eyjafjallajökull caused enormous disruption to air travel across Western Europe.

Please find this collection of PLAY A320neo pictures, from my flight, in Iceland. Please also note that, for full daylight for my travel, here, I've set the month to June 15, which is approximately mid-summer in Iceland... (otherwise it all appeared too dark...🙂...) ...

Thanks for viewing.

Thank you for the responses and glad you liked...🙂...

Yes, it was nice to explore and know a bit more about the terrains and topology of Iceland...quite unique, I would say...from what I can tell from the virtual world.... until/if a RW visit ever occurs ....🙂...

Bravo 👏

Very nice, shouldn't we see a volcano blowing up...? 😧

Thank you, Darryl...!

Yes, there does not seem to be a respite in volcanic activity there...I'd noted that (2012) Eyjafjallajökull was away to southeast of my (virtual) route, but the latest one is a bit closer, just south of Keflavik...
