Is this a settings thing!?

Featured Replies

I see others' helicopters as Pipers! Even those who fly helicopters I have, like Cabri, b47, Lamas etc  ...I guess it's the settings thing!?

It's probably the case with other planes, but helicopters make it obvious for one doesn't expect a Piper to hover!

I have "all AI and multiplayer traffic detail settings on. Is there anything else?

Usually that is because the model they are flying doesn't EXACTLY match what is on your system.

Are you talking about VATSIM or just multiplayer with mates?

I have had similar issues in the past flying the PMDG DC-6 with a friend who had exactly the same aircraft and repaint installed as me.  Yet he showed up as a default pointy nose A330.  Horrible.

If this is VATSIM then the solution is different and is probably due to the model matching .vmr file which is either not present or not updated to include the aircraft you are expecting to see.

No, not Vatsim, just multiplayer.

I've checked what Bert had suggested and found several model matching mods but haven't tested them yet...

Thank you all
