Bi-plane passes high over snowy mountain ranges

This week’s Screenshot Challenge winner is Forum user ZKd0s! If you’re interested in participating in our weekly Screenshot Challenges, check out the details in the Community section below!

Happy new year! Our team has returned to work following the holiday break refreshed and recharged. We hope everyone in our player community had a relaxing, peaceful, and safe holiday season.

In case you missed it, we had a few new releases just before the end of 2023: City Update V: European Cities I and Famous Flyer 8: Cessna T207A Turbo Stationair both launched on December 19th. We also have an ongoing optional stability test currently available for players on the Xbox platform. If you’re an Xbox simmer and would like to help the development team diagnose memory-related crashes so they can be resolved in a future build, please see this forum topic for instructions on how to enroll in this optional beta.

We’ve got a huge year coming up, and we can’t wait to share many exciting announcements with you throughout 2024! As always, please continue reading this weekly blog post for all the latest news about Microsoft Flight Simulator.

COMMUNITY FLY-IN FRIDAY

World Tour Stage 2 - Washington to Ottawa

We continue our round-the-world tour this week, picking up in Washington, DC where we ended our last Community Fly-In and heading to Canada’s capital city of Ottawa.

En route, we will fly over the majestic Niagara Falls and also visit Toronto, Canada’s largest city.

Event details are available here. All are welcome to participate!

TUBELINER TUESDAY

Tubeliner Tuesday: Dazzling Dubai

For the first Tubeliner Tuesday stream of 2024, we will be back on the VATSIM Multiplayer Network for a flight from Bahrain (OBBI) to Dubai (OMDB) in the PMDG Boeing 737-800. This one hour flight will see us cross the Persian Gulf to be greeted by stunning skyscapes including the tallest building in the world with the Burj Khalifa!

Event details are available here. Feel free to follow the flight on our Twitch channel!

COMMUNITY VIDEO

Just before the holiday period, we released City Update 5 for all Microsoft Flight Simulator users. YouTuber SimFlightPro takes a look at this new City Update, alongside the recently updated Cirrus SR-22, for the first Community Video of 2024.

With some beautifully captured cinematic shots of the cities, and matching descriptive commentary to allow viewers a glimpse into what City Update 5 has to offer, SimFlightPro has once again created another top quality video for you all to enjoy!
