How to turn off ?

Are you speaking about the airflow arrows around the aircraft when viewed from the exterior?  That would be part of the analysis that is toggled on in the Developer Mode menu system.

I think the @ key toggles them on and off as well, or at least one of those keys by the right shift key.  Give it a try.  There is a slight lag between pressing the key and seeing the change on screen.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

The thermals can be de/activated from the weather menu when flying IIRC

The key <> toggles some airflow on/off.

I checked mine.  The @ key definitely toggles the thermal visualisations.  May be different on different keyboards according to country etc.

Yes, Mike S KPDK, those lines.

I have tried Developers Menu, but see nothing.

How do you "toggle on analysis in Developer Mode"?

Start a flight

open the weather menu from the menu bar

bottom right should be a toggle key to turn thermals on

It wasn't thermals in the end Phil, it was the dynamic air flow around the aircraft.  See his picture above.  In any case, Dave has solved it.
