November 19, 200718 yr >Why in the world would I want to cut back on memory???????>The nvidea is a card. Because 2 x 256 with 2x 1mb is NOT a good memory configuration.i'll tell you what, the first thing I would do, is pull out the two 256mb sticks. Sounds to me like you mean I have too much memory.
November 19, 200718 yr mismatched sticks can cause all sorts of problems.the best problem they cause is slowing down the fast sticks to the speed of the slow ones.the worst is wierd memory related crashes. ex-Aces Lead PM, FSX SP1 and SP2 ex-Intel LRB native title enablement, ex Intel Gaming and Graphics Samples PM now Graphics and Multicore PM in Visual Computing Software Enabling.

November 19, 200718 yr Hi Don,If you already haven't tryed, remove the original memory, and replace them with the matched DDR (I don't think DDR2?) 2GB.This is to eliminate the possible "mismatch" configuration that Phil had mentioned.Paul S.
November 19, 200718 yr Okay, you made a believer out of me. Just seemed strange to me to be removing memory. I don't even know how to tell which is which. Are they marked?
