Weather and Time Slider Options Greyed Out?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have a friend who suddenly has a strange problem with the time slider on the World Map screen, and with the weather widget once be loads onto the runway. They all are greyed out and not adjustable for some reason. Seems to be a general problem, not aircraft specific. I have read that something like this can be associated with multiplayer where only the team leader has control of time and weather, but my friend has not participated in any multiplayer flights (at least not intentionally!  😉)

We are looking for some ideas on what to check.

Thanks,

Al

Is his data enabled?  He may be offline.

Hi Ryan,

Yes, I think so. He has been flying the Lear35 all over the place (and he also did that in RL for 30 years!  🙂)

Thanks,

Al

Also, starting from a saved flight will grey out the weather and time options.

Ah, that's interesting. Will have to check that.

Thanks,

This.

Unfortunately, the problem persists even when loading a new flight plan with a default aircraft like the steam gauge Skyhawk.

Please, check your (or your friend) settings:

General Options, Data, Live Weather ON.

Maybe, that makes the trick.

I can confirm that one.

Thanks for the suggestion, but he assures me that is on. In fact, I had him duplicate all my data settings, but the problem persists.

Rename the community folder. And create a new one.  Run the sim

He did say he tried taking almost everything out of the Community folder, but I'll pass this on and report back.

Thanks!

The "rename" the Community folder experiment did not work.  ☹️

In "Flight conditions" check that he has this button set to "All players" and not "Live players".

I think he has Multiplayer turned off under General Options > Data so that button is greyed out. But I will have him turn Multiplayer on at least long enough so he can select ALL PLAYERS if that is not what he currently has selected.

Thanks for the idea!
