Have They Changed the Rock of Gibraltar?

I'm hoping someone can clarify something for me. When RD Preset released Gibraltar, I was disappointed with the rendition of The Rock, as for me, personally, I thought it looked like a bowl of mashed potato! :biggrin: However, having seen some recent videos and screenshots of the same scenery, it now looks very different and more like what I would expect. I'm wondering if the devs have redesigned The Rock. Can anyone confirm my thoughts, thanks. Personally, I think this looks awful...  Capture.jpg

What setting do you have for terrain LOD? Also - I'm wondering whether photogrammetry (maybe is turned off) and could also have an effect <?>.

Hi matey, sure, I don't have the scenery, hence the reason for my question. :smile:

You don't need that scenery. The rock is default.

Yes, but Howard is interested in the increased level of detail to the airport and other scenery surrounding the rock that the RD Presets product provides. I have stuck with the hand crafted scenery for the moment because it already looks pretty good, but I assume that RD Presets have added another layer of detail beyond that.

RD did make some improvements in their update but that is already a year ago.

Maybe it would have been good if they just improved the airport and left the rock as the default one.  It was perfectly reasonable as people say.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Not sure what your original screenshot was using (my guess is RD Presets?), but here's a couple off my system - MSFS default (fully updated):

Ah ha, sure, my pic shows the RD Presets version, which I'm unsure why they changed it from the default. IMO the default looks far better. I wonder if there is a file pertinent to only the rock which can be switched off in the RDP scenery?

Nice thought ... but you might end up with duplicate objects around the airport if you have default enabled.
