Anyone use VATSIM?

I want to use it with FSX, and downloaded FSCopilot and FSInnOne of them screwed up my FSX installation. Thankfully I had the FSX registry fix.... how do you install those two programs without messing up FSX?

You're better off installing with the default options, rather than unticking stuff. Also, make sure you are using the 1.7/1.3 beta versions, not the 1.6/1.2 release (which won't work with FSX)If you're using vista, make sure to set 'run as administrator' on the various exe files. When you finally do get it running, you will find it to be somewhat flakey. Beware loading FS flight plans, and make a backup of your FSX.cfg. (when it crashes you will almost certainly need to restore your backup). Unfortunately, it's the only option for accessing Vatsim from FSX at this time.

Hmmm, that's prolly it, I was using 1.6/1.2, it said it worked in FSXWhere can I get those beta versions?

Ryan,Couple other considerations:Do not use Inn Wx ... they are working on a fix .. use your own Wx program. Also, when loading new aircraft or other program updates to FX the DLL.XML file gets rewritten and the "order" could be incorrect. My path to the DLL.xml is:C:Documents and SettingsVaughanApplication DataMicrosoftFSXThe correct order looks like this:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>Launchdll.xmlFalseFalseObject Placement ToolTrueFalse..Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDKSDKMission Creation Kitobject_placement.dllTraffic ToolboxFalseFalse..Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDKSDKEnvironment KitTraffic Toolbox SDKtraffictoolbox.dllVisual Effects ToolTrueFalse..Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDKSDKEnvironment KitSpecial Effects SDKvisualfxtool.dllFSUIPC 4FalseModulesFSUIPC4.dllLevel-D SimulationsFalseFalseModulesLVLD.dllFSCopilotFalseModulesFSCopilot.dllAFXModuleFalseFalseC:Program FilesAFXAFXModuleFSX.dllIf incorrect you can just edit it and save it.
