Flying Tiger Line

Featured Replies

Flying Tiger Line used to handle military transports.  Dad was a young Marine stationed in Germany. My mom was there also.  Around 1962 they flew from Germany to the US on an FTL Constellation. Also on board was my older brother who was a baby.  I wasn't born for a couple of more years.

Great shot. Nice that you can relive quite a bit of your family history via the sim. 🙂

You would enjoy a book called “Tiger in the sea” .True story about a FT Connie carrying troops and dependents that had to ditch in the North Atlantic. Seems Flying Tiger had a lot of issues with those planes. They actually lost two that departed from Travis AFB on the same day. One crashed in Alaska ,the other somewhere over the Pacific and was never found. Very interesting book.

Thanks alot I'll look for it.

Great tidbits from personal life, Todd. BTW, I recall once I'd posted about a (forgotten) DC-3, and you'd mentioned this DC-3 spent its life in one of your assigned stations...

I like Flying Tiger Line history...a rich one indeed...!
