Maybe not ATC or Weather, but in 2024 we will have 3D baobab trees!

Those are acacia koa trees 😁

In all honesty, while the new terrain shaders are very welcome & rendering quality is good, they really need to re-calibrate the tone mapper & possibly the textures, this looks like the madgascar cartoon more than the real world.  The other pictures suffer from the same problem.

Looks pretty good to me. Looking forward to it.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Totally agree! Hope they have done some massive tweaks since the release of these very early images/videos. But, for some odd reason and past track record, I doubt it.

The more I look at that tornado picture, the more I feel they are just catering to the entertainment masses -  the visibility 30+ nm around the vicinity of a tornado is *never* that good, and visibility in general is just way too good/unrealistic. It does indeed look like a Madagascar cartoon, or something pulled out of sea of thieves...

I don't think it's just Asobo.

A lot of developers using Blender seem to struggle with realistic-looking textures, instead delivering their add-ons with more cartoon-looking ones...

That said, I am looking forward to more realism in the form of proper 3D trees, migrating wildlife and more.
