June 18, 20241 yr Please enjoy this beautiful scenic journey from Sekiu 11S to Roche Harbor (pvt) WA09, in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. This is the new Classic Aircraft Simulations J3 Cub for MSFS. It's extremely affordable and has some super cool features like hand prop starting, filling up your own fuel tank, grabbing the control surfaces and making sure everything is there (walkaround etc), front passenger (hidable) which you can kindly nudge to the right or left to see out the front window, and even some parts that will break if you're not careful! The sounds are wonderful as are the visuals. There are also options for dynamic registration and the positions of them are customizable. Sometimes I customize the weather a little for my shots but this was a flight I was excited to do - I told myself "well I'll just use live weather whatever it is." I got lucky because PNW can be rainy and murky quite often. The virtual skies were beautiful as I left 11S and headed east along the NW coast of Washington state. I continue east past KCLM, Diamond Point, Port Townsend (0S9 of pnw fame), then I turn on my radios and transponder to get a class C transition with Whidbey Approach, head over Whidbey Island NAS, then cut the corner just shy of Anacortes (74S) towards San Juan Island. I fly over Cattle Point and follow the Haro Strait northbound until coming up on Roche Harbor and land at the private airstrip WA09. June 18, 20241 yr Wonderful tour of this beautiful region, Ryan....in this lovely and capable Cub... Hidable (and capable of being nudged a bit to left or right...) front passenger, for a better view, is a nice feature ...🙂 ... Yes, PNW can be often murky and rainy.... glad the weather remained supportive. Been twice to the Boeing Factory in Everett that you've cited in your tour... Indeed, it was raining around those mountains, as I recall... Thanks for sharing this post and these picturesque images...!
June 19, 20241 yr An extra nice series. Wonderful locales...and they really nailed the yellow on that Cub. Best looking J3 I've seen yet in any sim.
June 22, 20241 yr Excellent shots, Ryan. When the Cub was released I thought that we already have quite a few similar looking aircraft in our sim and most of them are faster too. But after seeing your post here, I got tempted 😃 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
June 23, 20241 yr Wow, that are stunning pictures! I definitely have to do that flight as well. Is the WA09 scenery the one from fs.to? Greetings Tim My files on Flightsim.to i5 12600K | 32Gb | RTX 4080
