KJFK - DD or FSDT?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Was wondering which one has better performance, and which one looks better?

And does DD NYC city scenery make performance nasty?

Cheers,
Rudy

I have FSdreamteam version 2 of JFK and so far it works fine on my system. Have flown in with PMDG 777/747 doing long hauls and found no problems. The scenery does tend to load when you get very close to the field sometimes like 6 or 7 miles. But that's typical of  most FSDT sceneries. From what I understand FSDT is now bit outdated as there has been several changes to airport in reality.

DD on other hand includes more then one airport when you buy the JFK version. I think it includes LGA and TEB airports. In terms of performance, I do have their Newark scenery and typically DD's performance is reasonable and steady. I do lose few FPS however when flying complex airliner such as PMDG or Fslabs but nothing major to seriously affect experience.

Neither are great options in my opinion, but the fsdt version is better.  The building textures in the DD version are really poor in my opinion.  The FSDT version is definitely old and out dated, but textures are a little better.

DD NYC buildings will impact performance, but I can fly into jfk without it being a slideshow on my mediocre system.

I use the DD scenery, the textures are pretty inferior to the FSDT one (and the parking positions in the afcad are a bit of a mess) but you get decent performance even alongside the wider New York scenery, it doesn't hit VRAM too hard either which is important when flying Concorde.

The FSDT one is probably a bit better overall, but since I bought the DD one first I've considered it 'good enough' not to bother to get the FSDT scenery.

I use DD as well. I do not mind performance, because my system is powerful enough with it's i9 13900KF and RTX 4090. I enjoy the scenery.
