RXP GTN750 work in the stock 172?

Featured Replies

Hi- will the RXP GTN install and work correctly in the 172? Thought I would ask prior to buying.

Thanks, Mark

You can hook it up to anything with pop-up window and most aircraft's AP can follow the NAV route you set in, but you'll need some quite extended .acf and .obj modify to add it in the 3D cockpit.

How recent will your database be?

That's the main reason I gave up on going RXP 😕

Not recent enough. TDS have figured out how to make their Garmin-dependent product have the latest Navigraph AIRACs in MSFS, so that's where RXP is definitely going to struggle.

Yep... tricks ( illegal ) can be used... but ...

A pitty.. I used their GNS back in the good-old times of FSX, and it was really great !

Then I used ELITE IFT, but it has the very same problem and the AIRAC updates cost in excess of $300 !!!

I don't think what TDS did is illegal, otherwise I think we wouldn't have it available anymore. There must have been a way for them to offer the Premium version where the most recent Navigraph database is available for the GTN avionics.

Ah, no, I was not commenting on the TDS but rather on how some users kept their RXP Airacs more or less up-2-date...

TDS is a success !  Even the default GNS in MSFS just by itself, that even if not perfect and fully featured does the job very well for a more simplistic use of the equipment.

I now mainly use GTN for Helo with HRM, so set a waypoint with lat/lon and the just 2 click to set a proper SAR pattern totally worth it.
