Mega Scenery Is Mega!

Featured Replies

I hunted for the mega scenery Southern California and found it at PC Aviator for $15.
About 1.6gb in three files that downloads and installs 50gb of files. When you start the install you see three download threads to help the process. I got two threads at 50mbs and one at 20mbs. Still took over an hour. 1039 files total.

Loaded P3D and was (insert hyperbolic adjective, mine is AMAZED). I loaded KONT to find the ILS hardware, newer taxi signage, many trees, new road lighting, vehicles, a new & improved tower although the other items  (jetways, vehicles, marshals etc) were the regular GSX.
The local buildings were many more than before with no fps hit. And they were more 3D than not.

Running V6.

I have most of their products, excellent, highly recommend.

What do you mean with "local buildings" ? I thought Mega Scenery products didn't include any autogen... Did this change ?

I dont think they include any autogen, i.e. you need to get that separately to combine with their photoreal. I think living airports offer some autogen packages for free (which I have used to great success together with the Megascenery photoreal).

According to the manual it's not autogen but "hand placed" buildings, trees etc. For instance, now there are transmission towers for the electrical lines (near freeways). Lots of things such as that.

I bought ORBX Great Britain True Earth packages and those include many structures not present in the default scenery. Such as football stadiums and TV transmitter towers plus lots of off-shore wind turbines. Many other things too.

That's right, and I fully agree that OrbX True Earth sceneries were by far the best "wide range" sceneries ever made for P3D.

However, here we were speaking about the sceneries made by MegaScenery, which is a different company ;)
