The official end of the fantastic FSNAV story

Featured Replies

For years, FsNav has been IMO one of the best addons for FS.Though not a real surprise, Helge Schroeder has officialy announced the end of FSNavigator and its withdraw from sales from Dec 31st.So there will not be a FSNav for FSX.I just hope that all the personnal reasons that made Helge taking this tough decision will soon belong to the past and I wish him all the best.Thank you Helge for the pleasure you gave us with your fantastic nav tool. With gratitude and respect,David RochOfficial announcement here:http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?f=157&t=67419

I, too, read with sadness the news that FSNav would be retired. I can still remember the first time I used it, though can't remember the FS version, and was literally stunned. Used it for years, and will surely miss it. I was waiting for a FSX version, too. But best wishes to Helge for the future. He did a lot for us.M

FS98!?!?!Oh man, I didn't realize it was THAT long ago. How time flies. Pun intended. ;)I just hope he allows the existing code and rights to pass onto someone (or group) who's serious about updating it and continuing it in the manner that he did. But maybe that's asking the impossible thses days....Thanks for getting that bit of info.... FS98..... wow!

Truly this was one of the most useful FS addons ever, and one that I sorely miss in FSX. Thank you Helge! All the best,Wade Chafe

Truly a great product and support just outstanding. I continue to use it for flight planning on another old computer. Wish Helge the best!erv KSDF

Well put, David. I still fly FS9 more than FSX, and when I do fly FSX, I miss being able to hit F9 and having all of that information at my fingertip ( literally). FSNav along with FSMeteo have always been my favorite add-ons and I do and will miss FSNav in FSX.Helge, thanks for the great work that you did with this one, and for the great service that I always got from you when I needed it.Happy New Year and Best Wishes for the Future.Ed GreenKCLT

At least now it's official. There is an alternative ( read, not replacement )....I've been using " Super Flight Planner " in FSX for months as a moving map/flight planner. It runs outside FSX. Not an issue IMO if you have a multi-monitor set up. It' s still in Beta and the developer is activeley adding new features. It requires FSUPIC to link the moving map, which is easily enabled from the menu.Freeware, for now.http://www.cpinf.com/downloads/super-flight-planner.htmlcheersGreghttp://www.cpinf.com/downloads/super-flight-planner.htmlhttp://www.fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg
