First the direct results, but then there are some 'buts' I'll come onto too. As far as any impact when flying below, through and above 25000' height in and coming out of thick clouds, all was OK. Apart from the 'But' below, all was OK with nothing untoward at any of the heights or cloud conditions or transitions. But there is something I've discovered that HAS been bugging me over the past week - and I've found a solution!!! 😀 . There's just the possibility that it is related, @DillonQuick question: are you having these problems in daytime with daylight in the room or do you generally use the sim under artificial light? Hey thanks for the feedback.☺️ The problem your having is your 'Room Lighting Frequency' is set to high. I had the same issue and setting it to '50Hz' solved the issue. The headset works great in any light. For my system it seems it can't handle loading scenery with heavy cloud layers on top of it. As the scenery loads in the distance when high up the headset freaks out as the scenery loads in. I don't have any season scenery loaded or cloud enhancements so this problem is not adding up. I have Scenery Caching in MSFS set to 'High' as recommended yet is doesn't resolve the issue. Head tracking is fine in any light below 25,000ft. I might get the occasional stutter as add-on airport scenery loads in but nothing like when at high altitude.🫤 FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
October 12, 20241 yr I suspect the tracking issues were caused by high CPU utilization. I’ve asked the dev team to try replicating the issue by flying above 25,000 feet with heavy cloud.

Looks like in MSFS under 'Experimental', 'Use NANOVG for XML Gauges' was turned on. I turned that off and headset performance greatly improved over heavy cloud cover. Can you guys test this and see with it 'on' does it cause a problem on your end. If it does we have another solution should anyone else see this. Looks like the last Asobo update turned this 'on' among other things I had to go back and switch 'off'.🫤 FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

It's on by default on my system. I did not have any tracking issues when I was flying above the last hurricane. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080S, Ram - 32GB, 32" 4K Monitor, WIN 11. Eric Escobar

It looks to be something for XBOX.😐 Turning it off solved my issue. So this somewhat confirms my suspicion it was turned on with the last Asobo update among other settings that were changed (in which I had to revert back to what I had set). October 16, 20241 yr Hi Dillon, Has the jittering issue been resolved after disabling that setting? I just double-checked my MSFS settings, and the setting was already enabled. I ran some additional tests with both the ON and OFF settings but didn't observe any unusual tracking behavior.

I'm still getting some tracking issues in high dense situations where high end add-on airports in heavy cloud situations is present (as I flow towards them) but the constant cloud issue above 25,000ft is all but gone now. I either ran out of disk space or had to reinstall windows. Most of the time I start out on the runway with engines running, so the whole process of downloading, organizing airports is a real pain. The default is good enough for me. I went ahead and downloaded a half dozen airports for CALI and tested with heavy clouds. I did not experience any tracking issue. But did experience some stutters that almost felt like the HMD was about to lose tracking. Need to test again. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080S, Ram - 32GB, 32" 4K Monitor, WIN 11. Eric Escobar
