Realistic engine start procedures are possible with ground air supply and cross-bleed, and autostart (Ctrl+E) compatibility allows you to get airborne quickly

I'm tempted just to get it solely for the challenge of manually starting it! Does it come with a decent manual and checklists?

Hi @sloppysmusic

There is a decent manual including checklist. There is a jetliner and a professional version. We are dealing here with the professional version. Jetliner works as far as know pretty well in p3dv5

I am happy if someone succeeds starting it up in p3dv4 or p3dv5.

Good luck!

Have you tried integrating the CIVA INS by Simufly? I guess you could also try to integrate the VC10 professional version CIVA ins into the jetliner version but not sure how that is setup. (I might try to do an integration of the Simufly CIVA INS, I can get back to you on how that went) 🙂

Hi @Blasb No I have not tried Simuflys CIVA. As far as I know it is for p3dv4.

I tried also integrating panels and gauges but there are some ascii dll and gau files that I think have to be adapted too...Please let us know if you succeed with that!

Good luck!

I almost clicked the buy button, but then I noticed that this addon seems stem from Aeroplane Heaven. They are not exactly famous for system depth and glorious graphics. Is this Just Flight´s own team product or AH?

The VC-10 Professional was made in house by the Just Flight development team.  Aeroplane Heaven has nothing to do with this plane, I'm not sure where you got that idea.  The VC-10 Professional has a lot of system depth to it and it's a complex machine.

I repeated a view I read on another forum. This was most helpful, thank you.

No problem, sometimes you have to take what people say on forums with a grain of salt.  JF did contract out some of it's aircraft like the CLS planes and the DC Designs planes for example so it's not unheard of for them to do that.  Most of their FSX and P3D aircraft were made in house though.

The VC10 Professional is an exceptional aircraft and I highly recommend it, I've had it myself for a few years now and if you're fascinated by classic or vintage airliners like me, it's a great one to add to your collection.

Wait, there's a CIVA add-on for FSX & P3D planes?  I never knew that.

Well thats good news! Maybe best to ask him to do a video showcasing how to get all four engines working! I assume a lot of people would be interested!

I would be very interested as I'm not able to get it started the manual way too.

Please, somebody make a video on how to start this thing from cold and dark!

Well, just installed this plane and as manual puts it; aircraft modelling and systems Aeroplane Heaven.

You can at least take comfort in that this is one of their better releases! 😅

I did buy the 1-11 and I found it only from the manual that it was made by AH.

I guess we were both partly correct, I went back and looked at the manual on the credits page and it says AH did the aircraft modeling, systems modelling and they did write the manual.  JF did the original model design, sound, flight dynamics and the liveries.

That being said, the plane has a good amount of system depth, maybe not as deep as a PMDG plane or something but I would still consider it at least a mid level aircraft, many systems on the plane are modeled but not everything.  I do really enjoy flying it, it has enough systems to keep me plenty occupied through all phases of flight and more importantly to me, the flight modeling is really good.

I always prefer planes that have good flight dynamics over planes that are loaded with systems but fly like trash.  That is why I never buy Captain Sim planes, they may have study level systems but they use generic flight models for all their planes so they are terribly unrealistic at the actual flying part...

I even prefer light airliners like the Quality Wings 757 or the JF/CLS DC-10 over aircraft like the so called "study level" Captain Sim planes because those planes fly much more realistically.

I wonder how you folks installed this to P3D. Mine crashes the sim. I have done that registry trick that allows installation of P3D4 addons. Installer asks if you want to install straight to P3D folder or into P3D Addons folder. I chose the latter.

Try this migration tool: https://www.flightsim.ee/products/migration-tool/

It works wonders for older add-ons that are not officially P3Dv5 compatible.  It is payware but it's really inexpensive and it's worth it's weight in gold if you like to try out lots of older add-ons.  I have the old JF Vickers Viscount and the old JF Robin R44 helicopter working in P3Dv5 because of this migration tool.

I hope I'm not late in joining this conversation. I'd also love to get this beauty to work in my P3Dv5 but I'm a bit confused. Does the Simmarket installer have an option to install it into v5 but the installer on the Justflight site doesn't? Also the startup of all the engines is possible with the ctrl+E method but not "manually"? This is not a cheap add-on, so it I'd like to know for sure before I invest in it.
