Out of curiosity msfs 2024

Featured Replies

Hi all,

now I have installed 2024 just out of curiosity...what do I care about my chatter from yesterday....🙂

And this little adventure had a few pros and cons of course:

The installation was easy, fast and straight forward and it does not use very much diskspace, very good. And did not cause any trouble with my 2020.

Seems to be there is more data in the cloud, so must be patient and start it a few times again until it becomes faster. And it works, I can fly.

Some confusion came up with the keyboard assignments because there were a lot of multiple assignments. At the end I deleted everything

and started from scratch with a clean file and now it's all fine and I can assign whatever I want.

My addons from 2020 where copied over but no marketplace liveries, so this is quiet uninteresting, I will not buy these again, wait and see what they do.

There are more issues for example regarding the panel lights of the 2020 aircraft, some autopilots and more instruments are not really usable.

The sim works well and no chrashes but with my little graphics card the performance is far below 2020, I can fly but cannot do scenery shots.

And what I will certainly fly in 2024 is the A400M, it's very nice. Did a first flight and still had some little issues so there was not everything

present on the glidesloop and some alert but this aircraft will be my hobby in 2024 now, I will learn it inside out...🙂

With a few updates and a new graphics card on the long run it may compete with my 2020 but this is a long way to go...my 2020 runs very well.

Fine shots, but you just nail it : It may be a very long Run for MSFS2024 until it works like MSFS2020.

Thats why i hold back for the NEW Sim, so lucky with my MSFS2020 😘 because everything is working so fine and this took at least four years !

cheers 😉

Thank you PM! 🙂 And yes, you won't miss anything except the A400. For example the aircraft selection screen is worse than in 2020.

There are a few strange things which I couldn't clarify yet. And to bring the addons over worked but not for the liveries

I bought in the marketplace, they are locked. As I cannot find any real advantage compared with 2020 I will only use it to learn the A400, it's good.

And than see what they make of it....for example some settings to control the lighting in the sim, there is nothing.

As I said, I was just curious...

PC: Ryzen 7 3700x AM4, 16 GB RAM, RTX 3060 12GB, Storage SSD 3TB, HDD 8TB, USB 8TB, 2 Screens, Win10-64

SIMs: FSX SE, P3d 3.4/4.5/6.1, Xplane 10/11/12, MSFS 2020/24, Aerofly FS 4

Great shots!

Nice shots!

And at least you got it to fly. When I tried the A400, it wouldn't move at all. And why only one external texture? I was so disappointed with 2024

All my FSX/P3D repaints are here on Avsim, for my MSFS repaints, go to FS.2

Interesting shots, Andi ! Can you move those FS2020 liveries you bought from the marketplace (they must be in your "Official" MSFS folder) to your PC and then upload them to the Community folder of FS2024?

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

Thank you, I think there may be some confusion caused by multiple assignments for keyboard and joystick. And i don't understand at all what they did there.

If you expect 2024 to be a fully functional successor of 2020 you will certainly be disappointed. It's more a new sim in developement so far.

They did some changes in the basic design of the whole stuff and now they start again...it's like 2020 a few years ago. 🙂

Thank you Bernd! Don't know, didn't try it. The marketplace stuff is not yet started, so I think they will bring it over later to the right place.

Glad you got your toes in... MSFS2024...Andreas...🙂....Yes, most of your observations, I experienced too...

Great to see the A400M up and flying in your shots here.... I'd tried it on Xbox, and it wouldn't fly for me...but that was before the latest Update. I am seeing improved response with big airliners currently, even on my (modest) Xbox/MSFS2024 system...will try this a/c again soon...

Thanks for sharing...!

[BTW, Andreas, I do not know (have not known) anyone in last 20 years, here, who has the whole gamut from FS9 through FS24 at fingertip, XP and P3D included in between...🙂...]

Thank's a lot P_7878! 🙂 The A400 works well on my system. You can activate the nosewheel in the aircraft efb, the rudder setting.

Only issue I have is I couldn't find so far how to activate the ILS glidesloop indicator, it holds the correct sinkrate but I cannot see it.

If you can find that please report. Normally there is a ILS button next to the FD button in airbus and than you have a "ILS" display in the MFD

bottom left side. Cannot find that in the A400.

The reason for that is simply that I like them all, the sims are all great. And I adjusted it all over the years and technically it's just a computer game.

The sims don't harm each other and you can install 50 computer games on a pc, no problem. Only watch the settings in Nvidia and don't mix it up there.

Of course I always make my backups, I am a backup fanatic. 🙂
