MSFS 2024: 2nd Try Questions

Featured Replies

Hi,

I experienced the 1st day issues etc…refunded…uninstalled and loaded MSFS2020 back on. My main issue with MSFS2024 then was the 97% freeze when loading the sim (I was able make it in 2 times out of the first 3 days). So, I literally could not play, or fly.

After 2 patches, I am looking to dive back in. Below are my questions.

1) Has the 97% issue been totally resolved or are there things that I need to do to prevent it? I am installing on a separate and dedicated D drive.

2) I mainly fly the P-Virus, DA40NG and the Sting S4 (FSReborn). Are there any glaring issues with any of the default planes that I listed?

3) Are there any performance tips? I7 (no OC), 64G Ram, RTX 3090

The 97% issue is largely fixed. There are a very few people that have said they still see this, but the vast majority of affected users don’t have issues anymore.

Can’t really say about these planes, haven’t tried them yet.

not really, performance is really good for the most part. Drop to high or medium if you can’t get good frames at your preferred resolution, it doesn’t really make it look bad in anyway.

you can try the auto fps app if you want to try frame gen on your 3090. Apparently it works well. But I think you should be fine without it.

Never saw the 97% thing but I waited to purchase to avoid the predictable opening week problems, I don't have the patience for that, I like my stuff to just work.

Be aware that the Marketplace is not open yet, so if you have Marketplace content it may, or may not show up in the aircraft list...like the Sting S4

As for performance tips it seems very good out of the box with zero tweaking.  I noticed a lot of load-in problems the first or second time I ran the sim, so, I'd give it a couple of cycles.
I have yet to do any serious performance testing on it though, like a heavy-load scenario etc. etc.

Overall I am positive about it (MSFS2024).

Empty your Community folder and make sure your clock in Windows is synchronized to the actual time. I don't think you will get the 97% loading issue anymore.
