December 22, 20241 yr About half the time when I use "Quit to Desktop" the sim ends and I am returned to my Windows 11 desktop. But - there is still a FlightSim 2024 process running and has the same PID as the process that was executing properly. I have to go into steam and STOP the sim. No big deal but annoying and a curiosity. Any thoughts about why this happens? December 23, 20241 yr Yeah, been dealing with that. Sometimes takes minutes to close, can't even kill the process and a few occasion it just never stops. December 23, 20241 yr This was common with 2020 too. Still is occasionally. I've learned to log off and on to windows again after quitting the sim before restarting. It flushes all rogue processes and is of course much faster than wasting time on a reboot. Russell Gough SE London
December 23, 20241 yr What aircraft is selected when you experience this? it happens for me when I have a Inibuilds Airbus selected. if I switch to the C172 in free flight menu (no need to proceed to ‘Start Flight’) and go back to main menu, MSFS will quit just fine.
