December 26, 20241 yr Well we have a learjet updated for 12 now. https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/323723-x-hangar-learjet-35a-released/#comment-2833731
December 29, 20241 yr I decided to indulge with this one. Generally XHangars work is to a high standard even if to a price as he says - so interior textures loads are kept basic but overall functionality is good. As for the Lear you get a good selection of liveries and the Gates/Bombadier Learjet 35A that is less seats and the extra fuel capacity. All nicely done by XHangar. Getting to know this aeroplane and model so all I can say is documentation is non existant or basic and in particular the Autopilot functions are not well explained or operable (Read the manual and the RW Manual is similarly obtuse.) Basically it operates like the older style CWS set then engage with limited pitch and roll control. Still unsure about a couple of things so lot of attempts and fails at the moment to get it to hold attitude or speed and altitude. Lots of surprises - overall very nicely done and functionality is very high. No issues with start etc. Lighting inside and out is good. Takes awhile to get used to using the FMS like the UMC that was fitted but it works. Some nice automated menu touches. Ground handling had reference to real world report and advice and it has difficult ground handling like the Lear had and can be tricky. Goes like a rocket and climbs very quickly indeed - 4000 fpm up to high levels, so you get behind this one real quick. See why they were held in such regard as pocket rockets. Sensitive handler is the norm so finger tip control don't push and pull this one. For a budget biz jet it is more than adequate may lack the style of say the default Cessna Citation but makes for an interesting sim experience.
December 30, 20241 yr The Lear is an interesting step back jet wize. XHangar has faithfully captured that era of jet systems wise and handling. The original Garett turbines were basically bullet proof and trouble free, simple pressurisation and steam era navigation but that NG era bolt on of UMC or GPS is tricky too as is the AP and the AP which is basic really! Cannot fault fuel flows or numbers so far - 10 mins to TOPC (F410) is pretty impressive relatively slow Vs of 100 kts approx. Documentation is sparse and online manuals (not payware) hard to come by. You get some performance docs but not much - that is typical XHangar - no bones about the finish standard (not full of gizmos or GPU eating texture files) but aesthetically it does the job quite well. Sound definitely needs a good FMOD though. The supplied checklist was a surprise - it unlocked the in built AI feature of the checkist tool or app within XP which I was oblivious too, so it picks up a text file and reads and displays it - neat! End summation - it is not that highly automated and you have to fly this one properly - otherwise it bites! External looks and finish is excellent as well. For those who complain about the cost of payware - I like the XHangar unapologetic approach of building to a budget, does quirky aeroplanes well.
December 30, 20241 yr 😍 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
December 31, 20241 yr X-Hangar might want to look at their windshield for the next update as they're missing the prominent center post and have a bulge where there is none. January 5, 20251 yr Well I am having major AP issues at moment. Resolution appears problematic. I get runaway trim failure to hold a command altitude and so basically no functional AP.
