stutter and fps drop when panning with mouse

Featured Replies

I still have this problem where when I pan around with the mouse, the fps will drop for a split second and cause a stutter.  I turned off the rolling cache, which I thought, helped, but it's still happening.  Not sure what else to try.  Here's a short video that shows it.  Framerate is pretty stable around 37, but it drops when panning....

P.S  From what I can tell, this issue seems to happen most in the Longitude.  I loaded up the C172 and Hondajet (other planes I like) and not stuttering...

GPU saturated.  You can see "limited by GPU" and also that your VRAM is saturated.

What video card do you have?  Looks like an 8GB vram card that's probably the minimum you'd want for 2020.

I have RTX20270, 8GB.  From what I see, it's not using all my VRAM.

I recommend using the sim with "Windowed Screen"  As I experienced, It is  effecting the performance.

You want to set "Screen terrain pre-caching" to Ultra in Graphics section.

When this is not set to Ultra, each camera rotation requires load and add missing scenery elements to the rendering pipeline. Those take disk access and CPU / GPU additional jobs.

Since I fly VR, Ultra is required to avoid stutters, as the vision direction is always moving. The counterpart is a slightly lower average Fps of course as 100% of the scenery around is in the pipeline.

Thanks, but I already have precaching set to ultra.  Weird thing is, if I just sit there and do nothing, there are red spikes in the debug mode fps display every few seconds.  It's like something is spiking my CPU every 3 seconds or so.  Not sure what.  Even weirder is, this doesn't happen in other planes, like the stock C172.  Wonder if something is jacked up with my C700?
