how to setup reverse thrust for pc12ngx on Bravo Throttle Q.

Featured Replies

I'm trying to set-up reverse thrust for the above so that it does NOT act like a button but an axis...can I do that and if so how?
I want to be able to just dial in a little bit of reverse for taxi. At idle it taxis way too fast. I don't want to wear out and keep constantly breaking but I'm constantly going in and out of reverse...hence this post.

thanks.

Ciao!

I use TOGGLE THROTTLE REVERSE THRUST mapped to a button.

Once toggled the throttle works but in reverse, allowing fine control.

Unfortunately, ASOBO doesn’t understand how it works and refuses to fix it. I don't believe they will fix it either; they’re too stubborn. In any case, to modulate engine reverse with a throttle quadrant that has a reverse axis lever, you will need at least FSUIPC, which provides that function. Currently, with ASOBO, either you have full reverse or none via a button. NOT REALISTIC AT ALL. There’s no way to modulate reversers as is in actual airplanes, like idle reverse or gradually increasing to whatever value you need up to maximum reverse.

This may help, I don't know.

Yes, unfortunately, it doesn't address the reverse axis problem. Those wizards at ASOBO ignore the reality that there are throttle quadrants with separate reverse thrust axes, and they single out these customers. Probably, they are the most arrogant developers; I sent two short movie clips showing how it actually works in the real B747 and A380, and the answer was "OK" and that they have their consultants to the matter. It's been almost 4 years since then, and it's still not fixed.

@briansommers Please try the solution offered by @RichieFly. This is not perfect. But if you can set a button to toggle Reverse Thrust, then you can use the normal power lever (throttle lever) to increase or decrease the amount of Reverse Thrust. (Normally, start with zero reverse thrust which on a turboprop probably means a little forward movement in the aircraft taxi speed. And then nudge the lever forward a tad to get to the equilibrium of "beta" and then adjust to taste. This does work with pretty well with the C208B Caravan and almost as well with the PC-12.  Of course, you have to remember whether the Reverse Thrust is toggled "On" or "Off". (Caution: my experience is with another throttle and not the Honeycomb. But you can give it a try.)
