MSFS2020 Fails to Start

Featured Replies

This morning, 11 Jan 25, MSFS2020 is failing to start.  Its been installed for over two years and I've never had this problem before.  The system hangs while it's checking for updates, says I don't have a connection, then proceeds and the either fails to complete loading or crashes after it loads.  It did load a couple of times and I was able to load an aircraft but then it crashed.  Anybody having system problems?

I looked into refreshing the system by going to the xbox app, selecting the FS where the option to refresh and rebuild files.  Is this option a good idea?  Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.  I'm not looking forward to a complete uninstall/install of the system but if it's necessary I'll do it.  I haven't installed MSFS2024 yet as I'm waiting for PMDG to release their products for that version.

Thanks in advance,

Jim Driskell

Thanks for the heads up.  Too bad the developers can't do a better job.  There is NO EXCUSE for this to happen to a fairly stable product.

It's just the MSFS2024 sickness or virus spreading out.

Cheers, Ed
