My MSFS2020 Crashing loading

Featured Replies

Hi my MSFS2020 crash startup and have reinstalled and now working. Help me please

I use 2024 but decided to re-install 2020 so I can use a few aircraft not available in 2024 - it crashes exactly the same as yours at the same point!

You guys can try this and see if it helps:  Credit to RVictorPilot on the official forums, not my fix...

According to the community, this may be caused by the Nvidia App. The error is coming from the DLL 190_E658703.dll. See if this fixes your problem (temporarily since this DLL is coming back, but there is a second solution but you can test this one to see if this is your problem):

Win + R, this should open the run box, put this in the search bar: C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA\NGX\models

Then, go to the search bar in the upper right corner and search for or copy this name: 190_E658703

If it appears listed in the search, delete everything without exception (Shift + A then Shift + Del). See if that solves the problem.

For what it's worth:

I have had similar problems lately with 2020 and 2024.

Although the sim would normally load, it would freeze the PC when selecting a flight.

Was using 572.16 at the time and Nvidia app.

Initial analysis indicated 572.16 would cause that and the App also. Only a hard reset was available. And the freeze occurred only with MS flightsims 20/24

So reverted to 566.36 and removed Nvidia app.

And everything came back to normal for both sims.

I am now on 572.24 (the fix for 572.16) and running the App but without Overlays and so far everything ok.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Followed the steps there, including setting the MSFS2020 usercfg.opt to DX12.  Unfortunately, still crashes at exactly the same point 😵‍💫
