Are there any true FSX compatible freeware aircrafts?

Featured Replies

Besides the default ones? This is a topic Phil Taylor brought up in his blog.I have downloaded a large sample of so-called "FSX" aircraft from avsim and opened up the model file in hex editor and they are all "MDL8" models ie. FS9! No-wonder when I installed some of these a/c in the past on FSX black spots came up on the screen and I had to re-install FSX clean! Is there any freeware FSX compat aircraft? And I must confess my system is not great, 2Ghz, 1GB Ram, 550mb graphics card, XP, FSX SP2, as I know some of you will say I need a better system, but I am cheap!

I put this one up awhile back...a virtual re-creation of a plane I helped my dad build 25 years ago. It was made using the FSX sdk, and has many custom animations, including fully animated control cables and a detailed engine. http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/7756/petefz8.jpghttp://img101.imageshack.us/img101/4725/20...42635843yz0.jpghttp://img212.imageshack.us/img212/1734/20...29548875zm6.jpghttp://img406.imageshack.us/img406/8373/20...03349514vc2.jpgLook for pete.zip!
