February 15, 20251 yr Hi Two of the most iconic 'between the wars' British biplanes that Aeroplane Heaven have just released. Anyone else tried them in VR? I've just loaded them in MSFS2020. While not 'study level' they are great fun...but I think AH, or MS, have got the VR camera config pilot position wrong. In 2D it's correct, but - for me - VR places the pilot sticking out of the aluminium cowling ahead of the cockpit and also to the right, with the RH M/C gun going through his torso. I've emailed Aeroplane Heaven about the problem, and with my best guess at what the correct XYZ positions should be, but of course it might only be me who has the issue. If you've bought them and tried them, can you let me know if you are having the same problem. If so, I can share the XYZ positions that I think are correct in the cameras.cfg file. I'll let you know what AH reckon if/when I get a reply. February 15, 20251 yr The headman at AH is not known for polite responses to criticisms of the products. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Why not just check it - especially as MS, as far as I know, approve anything going on their marketplace!? The really crazy thing is that both aircraft are actually very good in VR - once you've changed the seat position. Presumably the MSFS team couldn't find the telephone number of the guy that someone mentioned might have a VR headset somewhere in a cupboard... It's no wonder the VR community sometimes feel 'unloved'. Anyway - both aircraft are great fun, they look great and they sound great. In the unlikely event that no-one in either of the two organisations respond, and if folks find the same issue in their rigs, then the VR XYZ I have found works on mine is: SubCategoryItem="PilotVR" InitialXyz= 0.02, -0.15, -0.70 Changing the file needs to be done with the sim closed. The field is at the very end of the cameras.cfg file (last line but one), best accessed using Windows Notepad. You need to keep it as two decimal places and keep the negative signs '-' where stated. Then remember to 'Save' it using notepad's 'File' menu then 'Exit' and reboot MSFS The original settings are : 0.25, -0.05, -0.20 Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset
February 15, 20251 yr The Fury performs wonders! I doubt we shall ever see another single wing fighter developed! Germany is so jealous!, We don't need no Hurricanes! 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. February 15, 20251 yr Author I've received a prompt and helpful response from Aeroplane Heaven - they are working on a patch. Pleasing result. 🙂 Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset
February 17, 20251 yr Flew both in VR last night worked perfectly for me. One of them has a small tear in the rh wing fabric which is fair enough but it shows the ground underneath rather than the bottom skin. Other than that no issues that I could see, performance was excellent. Oh except for the viewpoint which is a little annoying but just a few seconds to correct. Edited February 17, 20251 yr by nojwod

Yes - there are one or two graphics anomalies (the ailerons are missing end fabric, for example) but overall nice looking and nicely done. Slow to accelerate, but then difficult to slow down...I suspect just like the originals with fixed pitch propellors but pretty clean streamlining 🙂 Anyone managed to get them working in MSFS2024? I copied and pasted the files but no joy yet. Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset

February 22, 20251 yr Author I'll have another go and see if I can get them working Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset
February 22, 20251 yr The Fury and Nimrod work extremely well for me in 2024. I just copied them out of 2020 community and into 2024 community and all was well. I probably had to activate them in the 2024 Library too, I don't remember. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. I did the same copy and paste but they didn't show in the aircraft list as other transfers have done. When you refer to maybe activating them in the Library too...where/what is that step? February 22, 20251 yr The Library lists assets available in the sim as either Streamed/Installed (Official/community) or Disabled. With no choices below, at the very bottom. Until you click on them But once you select the asset (click on it) then Disable and Enable choice appears down below at the bottom for you to put it in or out of the sim. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. February 22, 20251 yr I think I had to Enable the Nimrod/Fury by first selecting the Nimrod (Nimrod folder has both Fury and Nimrod in it). So in the search box put: nimrod.
