vatsim and flightsim links both down

Featured Replies

I think this is very odd that these two FS sites are both down. Google tells me neither site is accessible. And, serv-info does not bring up the vatsim flight page, either.Could someone be hacking both these sites, or is it mere coincidence that the two are down at the same time. Fortunately, we still have avsim, but I wonder if Tom has his shields up?....Sherm

The IP that VATSIM uses had an explosion and fire that ripped through the location where one of their servers was located. No apparent damage to the servers but the cabling and assorted hardware including walls were destroyed. They're probably trying to run around the issue as I was online earlier and a SUP said they were rebooting servers. It shouldn't be too long.Don't know what's up with flightsim.com.Regards,Jim Karn

Flightsim.com uses the same group. It also has affected the forums at The Old Hanger...here's a link to the company's forum (which oddly enough is working!) where more info can be had.http://forums.theplanet.com/index.php?showtopic=90185

At the moment, >7,500 servers remain "down" because of this explosion yesterday in the H1 Data Center's power room.
