FSX.cfg Question?

Featured Replies

There's a field in the Graphics section of the fsx.cfg file called Image_Quality. It is set to 0, None of the sliders seem to have an effect on it, and I haven't seen any tweak info on it. I tried setting it to 1, and the quality of the image did seem to be better, but that may only be my imagination. There was also no noticeable affect on performance. Does anyone know what this field is, and what effect changing it to 1 has, or is there even higher valid values for this field? The default setting is IMAGE_QUALITY=0Thank You

Thanks

Tom

I'm not sure, but I would bet a dollar that's related to the quality level of any .bmp that gets created when you press V to take a screenshot.

I just did a quick scan through the code and that's a "left-over" variable :-> The only code left related to this value is the code that reads/writes it from/to the .CFG file, no other code ever looks at the value, so it doesn't do anything :->

Wow, now I can set that to IMAGE_QUALITY=10000000and imagine that it's doing something!Placebo effect at it's finest! ;)
