Using FSHud on an iPad

Featured Replies

I've been using FSHud happily on an iPad for a while  now.   Recently however halfway through a flight I've been getting error messages, the browser window crashing, telling me "A problem repeatedly occurred on ....."

Sometimes it returns to life, sometimes it doesnt.

On asking in their discord they said there was a "problem with my network".

It's really annoying me as the internal  FSHud window has introduced stutters with frame gen that crash my sim, so it has meant the premature end of my flight today.

I have experimented running no firewall, no antivirus, making the firewall exception, not doing anything in the background.  I have high speed fiber and everything else  is running fine.

Has anyone else come across a similar error or could advise me what to do?  I'm not really buying it being a "problem with my network", it also happens at my dad's house, but if there is anything I can change, then I will.  The same thing happens when using my iPhone.

The problem never happens until about an hour into a flight.

As you're probably aware, there have been no apparent updates to FSHud for some time, so I suspect that their 'problem with (your) network' comment is based on that.

As your were able to use it until recently I really would suspect something at your end, maybe an iPadOS update or similar. Have you any other device you could try a browser session on to see if you still get an error?

Thanks for your reply.  Its the same story on my iPhone.  I dont have anything else I could use really that's not on the Apple ecosystem.

The problem has been happening for a couple of months, but losing my flight today upon opening the internal window with all the stutters, which seem to happen when I use the overhead bar to change the weather or time mid-flight, was a real dealbreaker today.

OK. Final suggestion, as I'm not a Frame Generation user and don't know if it's feasible, but could you temporarily run MSFS in windowed mode and run a browser session for FSHud on your MSFS PC instead of using the in-simulator window. This would eliminate both the Apple device and the network. I wouldn't suggest running like that permanently, but it might provide additional clues to FSHud support if that works successfully even if the iPad doesn't.

Might be your WiFi dropping out briefly.. That will definitely cause it.. Have you rebooted your router recently? If not it's worth a reset maybe.

I am also having the same issue for a while now, without a solution.

It is really annoying, my connection is completely fine, but it is happening more often than ever before and there is no solution for it other than open FSHUD in the same PC browser

Okay, I can fire up a second screen.

If all it is doing is running FSHud, am I going to be getting much performance drop?

No, it shouldn't. Unless you have too many tabs open.
