April 6, 20251 yr I have been having some issues setting up Addon Linker so would like to clarify a couple of things. My Addons Linker addons folder has a number of subfolders one of which is called Aircraft. When an update comes out for one of the installed aircraft in the Aircraft folder, or I want to install a new aircraft, I assume I can just point the installer to the Aircraft subfolder -- correct? When updating an installed aircraft, are there any issues if the installer first tries to uninstall the existing install before installing the update? Is it better to manually delete the old install before running the installer in this case? Do you ever need to work directly with the shortcuts that Addon Linker puts in the Community folder, say to delete one of the addons? Thanks, Al
April 6, 20251 yr I think you can do what you are suggesting without any issues. Addon Linker does not care what you do to the aircraft in your "Aircraft" folder, and you still have the option of deleting the link if it bothers you. Bert

Absolutely not (no need!). However - I think it's good practice when deleting an adoon to disable it in Linker first, then delete ... otherwise you might get "Invalid links" warnings in the lower panel. When pruning addons, I find it a lot easier to do it from the "Description" field in Linker itself, rather than using Explorer. At least you'll know that you're deleting the right one (!).

If by pruning addons you mean, for example, deleting an aircraft from what I called the Aircraft subfolder, I don't see how to do that from the "Description" field -- not sure what the "Description" field is. It's a field that applies to all addons - but you might need to enable the column in the listings view. Once enabled, click on the "..." to see more options (add a note, delete etc.).
