Joystick Problem

Featured Replies

Good morning,

I don’t usually ask for help or tips with MSFS as I’ve managed to work through various iterations of MSFS without real problems.

However, I have just downloaded MSFS2024 and it will not let me configure my joystick.  It sees it, but shows a white circle with a “1” in it beside each axis.  I know this points to a conflict, but I have tried all I know, and looked at YouTube etc to find out how to identify the conflict but have not found any leads so far.  It may be a simple solution, but not for me this time!

Kev

Search by input and then do this input, e.g. moving the corresponding axis, and it should then list all binded things.

Greetings, Chris

Thank you Chris - didn’t work, I’m afraid. Just spent another 3 hours trying to make the joystick work.  The sim sees it but won’t allocate any functions or axis to it.  Very bizarre.  Seriously thinking about going back to MSFS20.

Can you provide screenshots? If you search for input and then move the axis you think has a double assignment, what shows up?

Notat my PC at the moment…….On the right hand side of the screen there’s a generic image of the joystick with a question mark below it.  When scan the movement of the axis, an axis shows up but it has a white circle with the number one in it which, I know, means a conflict.  I’ve pushed all the buttons and moved all the axis on both the Thrustmaster throttle and the Virpil joystick and nothing comes up. I’ve even wiped the equivalent axis from the keyboard to see if there is a conflict.

I'm not sure what your complaint is... This is for my Alpha yoke (latest 2024 beta):

An earler SU2 beta for msfs2024 had this issue for "catagories:, is this your problem? The thread below was about that issue:

Here is the MS FAQ for controller assignments:

Thank you Chris and Fielder.
Fielder, I’ll go through all the stuff you mentioned and see if I can move forward.  It’s not really a “complaint’ - it’s that MSFS2024 just will not recognise any inputs or assignments to my Virpil joystick.  It shows a conflict, but I can’t find it.  Thanks again.

Do what Ankh said, select the joystick on the left side then click on search by input and move the axis. Post a screenshot of what shows up.

Thanks guys, problem solved.  It was an axis issue, but now everything is fine.
