Beta 1.5.2 is updating every item in Base and will not stop

************************************* not the problem I thought it was ************************************

The updating I am seeing, as described below, is really the sim/MarketPlace downloading the entire Base contents to my:

A:/MicroSoft Flight Simulator/Packages/Official2024  folder

I have no idea why this is happening or how to stop it - I repeatedly CANCEL the updates but as soon as I restart the sim - MP starts downloading to the above named folder.  At this point the folder is 64GB with 6,533 folders and 60,421 files

I have no interest in downloading content because I am on a very reliable 1 GB Xfinity network with no data caps.

How do I stop this downloading?

***** the following was my original analysis of the situation ****************

Steam 1.5.2.0 - flew a 30-minute flight and all was perfect

Then went into MarketPlace to see if there were any new deals

The MP told me the Asobo C 172SP G1000 needed updating so I selected it and clicked on update.  The MP screen showed an 816.32 MB update and I clicked on Install.  That worked fine.

But... I then noticed that the MP was updating every item in my Base Contents.  I click on Pause and Cancel but neither stops the update process.

I close the Sim and reopen it - as soon as I go into MarketPlace the sim resumes it's updating of 326 items.

15-Minutes later:

The sim stopped updating at 91 items and they are all marked as "Ready to Install"
I selected them all and clicked on Install and now, after 10-minutes the "Installing item(s)... Please Wait...." is on the screen with the revolving circle - the CPU is 30% busy for the sim And the sim is not recognizing any mouse or keyboard inputs.

What is happening and is it a problem?

Is it safe to just terminate the sim?

A while later - none of the 91 "Ready to Install" items in the Base installed despite the sim running the install window for 10-minutes

Now - after restarting the sim - the MarketPlace is again updating every item in Base Contents

The library/folder/file being updated, as shown in the MP, is the correct location for the Base Contents.

Same here and now nothing wants to install.

Someone will be along shortly to remind you 'IT'S A BETA!'.

Thing is, even a beta needs to be in a certain state so that you can test it.

Never mind.  Maybe they will offer us another one of their free planes as a good will gesture.

I emptied the entire Official 2024 folder, including _fscontent and restarted the sim.  Same problem - no Community in My Library and MarketPlace was trying to download the entire Base contents.  There were 65 items to install.  I tried to install one but the sim hung and I had to terminate with Alt-F4.

Restarted the sim and all is good.  Market Place has quit trying to download Base.  The Community Folder is now known to Market Place.

The odd thing is that during this entire fiasco - the sim worked perfectly including everything in the Community folder
