Fort Myers FL to Tropical Paradise *Part 1*

Featured Replies

We're flying the Cirrus S22T from KRSW to MYLD (Deadman's Cay / Bahamas) - we file IFR for 17,000 with a route of KRSW ZBV A555 ZQA MYLD.

I'm showing off a stunning paint from TimHH - available on flightsim.to!

RSW is payware from Verticalsim.  MYLD is default.

Looks like a great day to fly!

We might just blend right in with the Caribbean waters...

We have some thick clouds here in western Florida but the forecast was for mostly clear skies on the way....we shall see...

Verticalsim has done a nice job on this scenery modelling all the details

One can just barely make out Sanibel Island (above my tail there) - one of my favorite vacay destinations as a child

The turbocharged SR22 climbs pretty well and we're mostly on top around 7000 or so

FL250 is probably the best altitude but we did have some strong headwinds up there so we elected to stop at 17000 for the flight, setting our power for cruise

We can make out Bimini here... our first glimpse of the Caribbean!  And we true out around 205 ktas... not bad at all!

Here's South Bimini airport, MYBS (in case you have a desire to visit!)

As we cross ZBV we make our turn SE on A555 towards Nassau - you can also faintly still see the Miami coastline in our rear view

Looking good, Ryan, as always nice and crisp. Is it me, FS2024 seems brighter than FS2020.

Very nice!  It still blows my mind to see 4 seater aircraft like the SR22 (turbo) comfortably cruising in the flight levels... GA has come a long way in the last 30 years.  Just as an fyi, the Bahamas are in the North Atlantic; the Caribbean starts south of Cuba, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, etc.  Looking forward to part 2!

Lovely series of images, Ryan, harking back to some childhood memories too...🙂... The scenery and livery stand out in spite of opening bits of cloudy weather...

I would like to fly the MSFS/Asobo SR22, but cannot find the nice (and colorful) sets of repaints in my MSFS2024/Xbox that I'd once acquired from the MSFS2020 Marketplace...will check again...

Glimpses of the (Florida based) Western Global MD-11Fs are quite a catch. And, btw, it appears they have recovered from bankruptcy restructuring and are still operating now. In fact, as a coincidence, a short while ago, I'd caught sight of a Western Global MD-11 Freighter sitting rather mournfully by itself in a remote lot of O'Hare (as I was lifting off on a domestic travel ...)

Thanks for sharing...!
