Can't Sign In Microsoft Account FS2020

Featured Replies

I had this before but do not understand it. All of a sudden MS2020 is asking me to sign in again but I cant because the login screen keeps changing the Focus to the X  on the top left and I cant enter my user name? This is on steam with SU16. I swear these guys also coded the affordable health care act website. You cant be this dumb. See pic below

Hit "FN + F11" combination on keyboard (FN is "Function Key"), and if your keyboard does not have an "FN" key like mine, just press the"F11". I had the same issue once.

Same issue here so I run MSFS from the XBOX app where you can verify you are logged in.  The next tme you can run MSFS directly.

Must be a credentials relink thing.

Believe it or not, a Honeycomb Alpha yoke can cause this. It did it to me, and I thought I might lose all my msfs stuff on my account because I couldn't sign in. A forum post said to start flipping the two big red and two white switches on the yoke and suddenly you will be able to focus into the box to enter credentials. It worked in 10 seconds of trying. I had been stumped for 2 hours. Someone else said to unplug the Alpha yoke will also cure the issue. There were several guys in that thread that got the issue cured this way.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Sadly, I'm still not able to get in.  I unplugged all my USB peripherals and that didn't help.  I started the XBOX app and found I was already signed in.  I signed out and back in again and ran MSFS 2020 but still no luck.  I also tried F11 to no avail.  I don't know what else to do.

Update: I messed around a bit more (tried disconnecting USB peripherals again) and I finally got in.

I have a loose USB connection that could have caused my issue yesterday.

It allows you to enter and exit "Full Screen" mode, which should let you type your pw.

I tried that by hitting Alt Enter but that did not work.

I could not get windows to focus into this box. After reading about issue, I began throwing switches randomly on my Alpha yoke until I could click into the box. I don't think I ever would have been able to login to MS without doing that.

Wow that is just crazy to have to do this. I will remember this because I have the Bravo it may still do the same thing as the yoke.

  • 4 months later...

I just had this issue again where I could not enter my information into the Microsoft login box. I unplugged the mini usb connections to both my Honeycomb yoke and throttle quadrants and alas was able to enter information into the box. I then plugged them back in and continued to sign into the flight simulator and everything worked fine. How bizarre....
